Mushrooms au gratin


  • Mushrooms 500 gr sliced
  • Chicken 250 gr cut into pieces
  • Onions 2 finely chopped
  • Butter 100 gr
  • Olive oil 3 full tablespoons
  • All-purpose flour 100 gr
  • Milk 700 gr
  • Heavy cream 150 gr
  • Yellow cheese (kasseri) 200 gr (or Regato grated)
  • Salt - pepper
  • Feta cheese 50 gr


Saute the onion and the mushrooms in the oil for 5 minutes.Add the chicken cut into small pieces and the feta cheese and mix well.In another pan prepare the bechamel sauce,whisk the butter,the flour and the milk until thickened,then add salt,pepper and the heavy cream.In a roasting pan spread half of the bechamel sauce and on top the mushroom mixture with the chicken.Add to the remaining bechamel sauce the grated cheese,stir and spread it onto the mushroom mixture,bake at 180 degrees for 40-45 minutes until brown.
