Ingredients
- Okra 300 gr peeled fresh or frozen
- Self-rising flour 1/2 glass
- Beer 1/2 can
- Tabasco 2 - 3 drops
- Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt
- Ketcup 1 tablespoon
- Corn oil for frying
Yoghourt sauce
- Yoghourt 250 gr
- Garlic 1 -2 cloves mashed
- Paprika 1/2 teaspoon
- Mint a lttle,finely chopped
- Salt
- Olive oil 1 tablespoon
Instructions
Peel the okra,wash and boil it into a pan.Bring to 1-2 boils,strain and let it drain and cool.In a deep dish put the flour,the baking powder,salt,the ketchup,the tabasco drops and the beer gradually until the batter is not too thin nor too thick,but coats the okra evenly(if necessary add some more beer).In a bowl put all the ingredients for the yoghourt sauce,stir and refrigerate it until you fry the okra.Heat the olive oil in a frying pan,soak the okra in the batter and fry until brown.Line it onto absorbing kitchen paper to absorb the excess olive oil and serve warm with the yoghourt sauce.
