Baked gnocchi with basil sauce


  • Gnocchi 500 gr
  • Tomatoes 5 finely chopped
  • Basil 1 tablespoon finely chopped
  • Garlic 2 cloves finely chopped
  • Parmesan 150 gr grated
  • Olive oil 4 tablespoons
  • Sugar 1 pinch
  • Salt - pepper


In a frying pan saute the garlic slightly with the olive oil,add the finely chopped tomato,salt,pepper,the sugar,the finely chopped basil and simmer at low heat until the liquid is all absorbed and remove from the heat.In a pan add water and salt,bring to a boil and add the gnocchi.They are ready as soon as they come to the surface (boil for 2 – 3 minutes).Place the gnocchi in a buttered Pyrex,pour the sauce over the gnocchi and sprinkle with the grated Parmesan.Bake in preheated oven until the cheese melts and they are ready to be served.
