Cinnamon and honey cake


  • Self-raising flour 500 gr sifted
  • Eggs 5 at room temperature
  • Sugar 1 glass
  • Milk 1 glass warm
  • Butter 250 gr melted
  • Orange 1 item juice and zest
  • Honey 2 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon 2 level teaspoons
  • Clove powder 1 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon grated
  • Baking soda 1 teaspoon
  • Baking powder 1 teaspoon
  • Cocoa powder 2 tablespoons
  • Caster sugar for sprinkle


In a bowl beat with an electric mixer the eggs with the sugar thoroughly until fluffy,add the warm milk,the honey,the melted butter,the orange juice and zest and stir.In a deep bowl put the flour,the baking powder and the baking soda,the cocoa powder,the cinnamon,the clove powder,the nutmeg,sift all the ingredients and add them to the previous mixture.Continue beating with the mixer until the ingredients combine.Grease with butter a cake tin to prevent the cake from sticking in the tin.Pour the mixture into the tin and bake in preheated oven at 170 degrees for 40-45 minutes until an inserted knife comes out clean.Remove from the oven and let it cool.Carefully remove from the the cake tin,sprinkle with caster sugar and enjoy it.
