- All-purpose flour 3 1/2 glasses
- Salt 1 pinch
- Butter 4 tablespoons at room temperature
- Sugar 4 tablespoons
- Fresh yeast 50 gr
- Egg 1
- Milk 1 glass lukewarm
- Sunflower oil for frying
For the chocolate sauce
- Dark chocolate 200 gr finely chopped
- Heavy cream 200 gr
First prepare the dough,in a bowl add the flour, the butter, the salt.Knead with your hand until you have a rough looking ball, make a well in the middle of the dough and add the yeast, the lukewarm milk, mix and add the egg.Knead until the dough is soft, cover it with a towel and let for 1 – 2 hours until it doubles in volume. Then shape the dough into a walnut size ball (or into any size you want),and make a hole with your finger in the middle.Do the same with the whole dough.Place the doughnuts on a floured surface and cover them with a wet towel for 20 minutes. In a frying pan heat the sunflower oil well and fry the doughnuts( make the hole in the middle again in case it closes ),until brown.Place them on absorbing kitchen paper.
For the chocolate sauce,in a saucepan add the chocolate and the heavy cream, stir at low heat until the chocolate melts and dip the fried doughnuts one by one and let them cool.If you want sprinkle with some chocolate sprinkles or peanuts when they are still warm.
