Spaghetti napolitana


  • Spaghetti 500 gr
  • Tomatoes 6 ripe
  • Olive oil 5 tablespoons
  • Garlic 2 cloves finely chopped
  • Fresh basil leaves 4 - 5 finely chopped
  • Onion 1 finely chooped
  • Sugar a pinch
  • Gruyere cheese 100 gr for sprinkle
  • Salt - pepper


Wash,peel and chop finely the tomatoes.In a pan heat the olive oil and saute the onion and the garlic for 2 – 3 minutes. Add the finely chopped tomatoes,salt,pepper,the basil leaves and the sugar and simmer for 15 – 20 minutes.Boil the spaghetti according to the instructions on the package and drain. Place the spaghetti on a plate and pour the sauce over it. Sprinkle with some grated Gruyere cheese and enjoy.

*Instead of spaghetti,you can use any kind of pasta you want.
