- Phyllo pastry 1 packet
- Olive oil 300 ml
- Milk 250 ml
- Brown sugar 300 gr
- Strained yoghurt 200 gr
- Oranges 3 big juice and zest of
- Baking powder 1 sacket
- Salt 1 pinch
- Cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon optionally
- Water 250 ml
- Brown sugar 200 gr
- Honey 1 tablespoon
- Orange 50 ml juice and peel finely stripped
Using a knife cut the phyllo pastry into ten pieces and let it dry or bake it for a while and then crumble it.In a bowl add olive oil,milk,sugar and yoghurt,whisk all the ingredients well till they combine.Zest and juice the oranges and dilute the baking powder in the juice.Add this mixture and the zest to the yoghurt mixture and then add the crumbled phyllo pastry ,salt and cinnamon(optionally).Whisk all the ingredients thoroughly.Grease a roasting pan 30×32 and pour the mixture.Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees for 40 minutes(depending on the oven).Remove from the oven and let it cool.
Prepare the syrup:In a pan add water,the sugar,the orange juice,the honey,the orange peels and boil all the ingredients together for about 6-8 minutes after the boiling point.Remove the orange peels from the syrup.Score slightly the orange pie and pour the hot syrup gradually onto the warm pie.Garnish with the peels.Let the syrup to be well absorbed and it is ready to be served.
