Ingredients
- Almonds 1 cup (ground with their skins)
- All-purpose flour 2 1/2 cups
- Baking powder 1 teaspoon
- Eggs 5
- Vegetable butter 1 cup
- Sugar 1 cup
- Cognac 2 tablespoons
- Salt a pinch
Instructions
Beat the butter thoroughly until it turns white and add the sugar gradually.Add the yolks and continue beating.In another bowl beat the whites until stiff peaks and add them to the other mixture.Mix gently.Sift the flour with the baking powder and the salt and add it to the mixture.Grind the almonds and add them to the mixture too.Add the cognac and mix all the ingredients together using a spatula.Butter an oblong cake tin and pour the mixture in it.Bake in the oven for 1 hour and a half.
